Mesh Generation
Generate the finite element mesh throughout the 3D domain with the click of a button. BUILD3D automatically produces a clean mesh, removing the need to spend hours on manual mesh adjustments, and material and boundary condition assignments.

DXF/DWG Import Functionality Expanded
Enhancements to the importing *metry functionality were completed to allow for the conversion of closed loops from DXF and DWG files into regions in *Studio. This is common for DXF files exported from Maptek Vulcan *logical modelling software.

Import Functionality Expanded in BUILD3D
Importing features in BUILD3D have been expanded to include the ability to import IGES files. AutoCAD models constructed with curves, surfaces, or solids can be imported directly into BUILD3D in the IGES format. In addition, STL meshes are now imported as background *metry in BUILD3D, allowing for the creation of profiles and swept lines on a construction plane while simultaneously snapping to the background mesh. This approach provides a very fast method to construct simplified, clean models of overly complex, overly sampled, or poorly meshed 3D domains, for example from LIDAR scans or Civil3D meshed surfaces.
