USB 2.0, also known as Universal Serial Bus 2.0, is a standard for connecting devices to a computer. It was introduced in April 2000 and is the successor to USB 1.1. It is backward compatible with USB 1.1 devices, meaning that USB 2.0 ports can still be used with older USB 1.1 devices, but at slower transfer speeds. USB 2.0 ports are commonly found on computers, laptops, and other electronic devices, and are used for connecting a wide range of peripherals such as external hard drives, printers, keyboards, and mice.
