定義：
人造磨料的一種。三氧化二鋁(Al2O3)含量在98％以上，并含有少量氧化鐵、氧化硅等成分，呈白色。
產品簡介：
白剛玉以工業氧化鋁粉為原料，于電弧中經2000度以上高溫熔煉后冷卻制成，經粉碎整形，磁選去鐵，篩分成多種粒度，其質地致密、硬度高，粒形成尖角狀，適用于制造陶瓷、樹脂固結磨具以及研磨、拋光、噴砂、精密鑄造（精鑄專用剛玉）等，還可用于制造高級耐火材料，代號“WA”于**通用標準、地區標準一致，多數供出口，也有一定量供應國內用戶。
產品粒度按**標準以及各國標準生產，可按用戶要求粒度進行加工。通用粒度號為F4~F220，其化學成份視粒度大小而不同。**的特點是晶體尺寸小耐沖擊，如果用自磨機加工破碎，顆粒多為球狀顆粒，表面干潔，易于結合劑結合。
白剛玉密度：
密度分為兩種，一是白剛玉堆積密度，二是白剛玉真密度。
堆積密度為：1.53~1.99g/cm3，磨料的堆積密度與磨料的粒度，粒度組成，品種，顆粒形狀等因素都有關，一般來說，粗粒度磨料比細粒度磨料堆積密度大，混合粒度磨料的堆積密度大于單一的粒度密度。
顆粒密度為：3.95~4.0g/cm3，真密度4.1g/cm3，磨料的真密度是指單位體積（排除開氣孔的體積）內所含磨料的質量。
基本粒度為：45%~55%，基本粒度是**研磨效果的重要指標，在生產時應可以適當控制，但生產速度可能放緩。
