天線的輸入阻抗是以收發(fā)機(jī)與天線間的接口往天線端看入所得到的阻抗值。這一數(shù)值對天線的輻射效率，天線的帶內(nèi)增益波動，天線前端的功率容量有很大的影響。手機(jī)天線是一種駐波天線，天線的阻抗不匹配，將導(dǎo)致大量的信號反射，使天線的輻射效率降低，同時由于反射的影響使得天線在寬頻帶內(nèi)的增益有抖動，如果天線的駐波為6，手機(jī)前端的擊穿電壓將降為原來的1/6，而功率容量就會下降。手機(jī)天線駐波對天線效率的影響不可不慎。天線的駐波要求，我們目前統(tǒng)一要求為小于3。
工作頻率與工作帶寬
天線的帶寬是指滿足天線全部指標(biāo)的頻帶范圍。工作頻率是指天線帶寬范圍內(nèi)的所有頻率。工作帶寬由多個指標(biāo)來限定，因此需取其中帶寬較窄的帶寬，手機(jī)天線中，方向圖帶寬，較化帶寬等因素所限定的帶寬大于阻抗帶寬，因此在手機(jī)天線中一般以滿足所要求駐波的帶寬范圍作為天線的工作帶寬。
波束方向圖
天線波束方向圖是用來描述由天線所輻射出的能量與空間中任意位置的相互關(guān)系，藉由方向圖可以得知由天線所輻射的電磁波在空間中每一個位置的相對強(qiáng)度或**強(qiáng)度。毫無疑問，手機(jī)天線的水平方向圖要求是全向的，實際上手機(jī)天線的波束方向圖并不重要，主要是在手機(jī)的使用過程中，此時手機(jī)天線的輻射特性與單天線的輻射特性是不相同的。手機(jī)天線的方向圖只要求水平面近似為全向即可。
方向性與天線增益
天線的方向性與其波束方向圖有關(guān)，所以方向性也是方位角的函數(shù)，其定義如下：D(θ,ψ)=【天線在(θ,ψ)方向上的輻射強(qiáng)度】/【全向性天線的輻射強(qiáng)度】在實際的應(yīng)用上，由于**考慮天線本身的輻射效率問題，故通常都以天線增益的大小來代替指向性，兩者之間的關(guān)系為：
G（θ,ψ）=eD(θ,ψ)
其中，天線的輻射效率高低與電磁波輻射過程中所損失的能量多少有關(guān)。
天線在能量傳送與接收的過程中所有可能會產(chǎn)生的能量損失包括：天線輸入端阻抗不匹配造成的能量反射、天線本身的材質(zhì)在高頻下所產(chǎn)生的能量損耗以及在傳播介質(zhì)中所消耗的能量。手機(jī)天線的增益并不能代表手機(jī)使用時的效率問題：真正表示天線增益特性的指標(biāo)應(yīng)該是天線的平均有效增益，其與手機(jī)天線的的使用環(huán)境、使用方式、手機(jī)的結(jié)構(gòu)、手機(jī)設(shè)計方式相關(guān)。

⒈從較化方式上GPS天線分為垂直較化和圓形較化。
以現(xiàn)在的技術(shù)，垂直較化的效果比不上圓形較化。因此除了特殊情況，GPS天線都會采用圓形較化和線性較化。
⒉從放置方式上GPS天線分為內(nèi)置天線和外置天線。
天線的裝配位置也是十分重要。早期GPS手持機(jī)多采用外翻式天線，此時天線與整機(jī)內(nèi)部基本隔離，EMI幾乎不對其造成影響，收星效果很好。現(xiàn)在隨著小型化潮流，GPS天線多采用內(nèi)置。此時天線**在所有金屬器件上方，殼內(nèi)須電鍍并良好接地，遠(yuǎn)離EMI干擾源，比如CPU，SDRAM，SD卡，晶振，DC/DC。
車載GPS的應(yīng)用會越來越普遍。而汽車的外殼，特別是汽車防爆膜會GPS信號產(chǎn)生嚴(yán)重的阻礙。一個帶磁鐵（能吸附到車頂）的外接天線對于車載GPS來說是非常有必要的。
3.從供電方面又分有源和無源。
外置式GPS為有源天線，比方達(dá)伽馬GPS天線外置式天線基本上就屬于有源天線。那無源天線就是不含LNA放大器，只是天線本體。
