       1、椰殼活性炭屬于果殼活性炭類別，其主要特點是密度小、手感輕，拿在手里的重量明顯比煤質活性炭輕。相同重量的活性炭，椰殼活性炭體積一般大于煤質活性炭。
 
       2、椰殼活性炭形狀一般為破碎顆粒狀、片狀，而成型活性炭，如柱狀、球狀活性炭，多為煤質炭。
 
       3、因椰殼活性炭密度小，手感輕，因此可以將活性炭放到水里，煤質炭一般沉底較快，而椰殼活性炭浮在水中的時間更長，隨著活性炭吸附水分子達到飽和，加重自身重量才會逐步全部沉入水底，當活性炭全部沉底后，會看見每顆活性炭外面都包裹著一個小氣泡，晶瑩緹透，非常有趣。

      2、椰殼活性炭用于氣體吸附類：苯、甲苯、二甲苯、丙酮、油氣、CS2等有機溶劑吸附與回收；生化、油漆工業、地下場所、皮革工廠、動物飼養場所的空氣凈化、脫臭；煙道氣的臭氣吸附、硫化物吸附，汞蒸汽的去除，降低戴奧辛的生成。
 


影響活性炭吸附的主要因素：
 
     ① 活性炭吸附劑的性質：椰殼活性炭其表面積越大，吸附能力就越強；活性炭是非極性分子，易于吸附非極性或極性很低的吸附質；活性炭吸附劑顆粒的大小，細孔的構造和分布情況以及表面化學性質等對吸附也有很大的影響。
